BCC Advisers is pleased to announce Michelle Temeyer, CPA has been accepted into the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute's Community Leadership Program class of 2021-2022. Michelle was nominated and vetted in a lengthy and competitive selection process from applicants representing private, public, and non-profit sectors within the community. Successful candidates have demonstrated some level of community leadership experience and are committed to community engagement.

The Community Leadership Program (CLP) prepares leaders from across Central Iowa to be effective stewards for their community's future. The nine-month curriculum offers a view of Greater Des Moines from divergent vantage points, heightens participant awareness of current community conditions and challenges, enhances individual and group leadership skills, and helps class members see themselves as partners for change.

Class members apply what they learn from the three pillars of CLP - Issue and Opportunity Awareness, Leadership Development, and Practice through Service - as they work on class projects addressing an identified community need. CLP’s concentration on leadership development encourages class members to intentionally focus on group dynamics, respect for different leadership styles, community project management, as well as becoming better advocates for community needs. The 2022 class project will be announced later this year.

Michelle is a financial analyst working primarily in BCC’s business valuation practice. She joined BCC in 2017 and is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting data for the preparation of business appraisals in a variety of industries, as well as performing industry, economic, and company research.
