Alan D. Ryerson Awarded ISCPA 2017 Distinguished Service Award
BCC Advisers is pleased to announce that Alan D. Ryerson, CPA/ABV, CFF, ASA was awarded the 2017 Distinguished Service Award at the Iowa Society of CPAs (ISCPA) Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting on May 5, 2017. This award honors an Iowa CPA who has provided exceptional dedication and service to ISCPA and the profession.
Al has been a member of ISCPA since 1977, serving on the board of directors as well as serving as president, vice president, and treasurer over the years. In addition, Al served on many committees including chairing Insurance and Membership Benefits.
Al’s service to the profession includes current leadership, board positions and/or membership with the American Society of Appraisers, Financial Executives International, Des Moines Estate Planners, Wednesday Tax Forum and the Des Moines Club. Al has held past membership and/or leadership roles with the Des Moines Host Lions Club, National Center for Employee Ownership, ESOP Association, National Association of Forensic Economics, Phi Delta Theta Des Moines Householding Corporation, Polk-Des Moines Taxpayers Association, Des Moines Birthplace, Business Aid Society of Polk County, Drake University Accounting Advisory Board, and Demonstratives Inc.
Since 1992, Al has specialized in providing business valuation and litigation support services to clients of BCC Advisers, and has served as a consultant and business adviser to middle-market businesses in the areas of taxation, business planning, financial budgeting and forecasting, mergers and acquisitions and business valuations. He is an alumnus of Drake University, a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Iowa, has earned the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) designations with the American Institute of CPAs and is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers.
